Only if the signal passes though a buffer amp, before the recombining to mono y cable. It's also not so good an idea to combine on the output. and usually the output impedance of a device is low and each output channel will see the other channel input. if the output stage drivers have the current capacity to drive the 'inputs' with out distoring or damage then you are OK. I made a special "Y" combiner cable for my sub - series 2kOhm resistors in each of the feed legs to avoid this.
