Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Partial Champ Family photo

Tried the amp out. Used my 1999 MIM Telecaster. Tone is very nice. OD tone is not quite up to the 1949 Champion 600. I guess I just like that RCA 5693 pentode. It has better OD tone to me, than the 12AX7. At least, for the way I setup my guitars. [Tend to use hot alnico pickups].

Test drive it some more, later tonight. BTW... this amp cranked to 12, yes it goes to 12, is pretty loud. I mean, I can easily drown out the stereo. That Weber speaker is not bad, efficiency-wise, for a tiny 6-inch speaker.
