A few months ago, I bought a Yamaha Strat copy in a thrift store and have been looking for an amp, so I have been following this with interest. It turns out that several new Chanp amp kits are available and Jensen makes both alnico and mud magnet speakers for it. I have an idea that I could but a small soiled state amp, used, and retro fit the tweed amp to the cabinet. At least for guitars, 50's technology is here. For hifi, there is always Great Plains Audio.
