Both the old and the newer JVC receiver and DYI sound systems work. I'm patching the newer receiver into the audio outs on the cable box. The older JVC (VR-5541) drives the tall speakers from the audio out jack on the TV. The DVD recorder records standard definition DVDs from the cable box output.

The stand turned out nice I think. Lots of space for equipment, remotes etc.
