RE: 1955 tweed Fender Champ

All OEM, as far a I can tell. Date stamps match serial number birthday. Old Astron filter caps have pimples. Will need replacing. I haven't gotten around to measuring the B+ and anode voltages.

I believe many woody and tweed era Fender amps used off the shelf trannies. My 1949 Champion has Triad irons. The Model 26 I once owned had Merit Coil & Transformer.

Fender didn't go to Schumacher, exclusively, until the early 1960s. And you will see mixed Triad and Schumacher in early brown & blackface amps.
