Spica TC 50- 2nd followup

I purchased a pr of Spica TC 50 in early October of last year.

My initial impressions were favorable, but I found room for improvement. Thread from Oct is linked below.

Earlier today, I installed them into my computer system, in place of my usual speakers (either NEAR 10m or Acoustic Energy Aegis One), but driven by the same amp (Musical Fidelity A3.2 Integrated / 110 wpc) and Dac (original HRT streamer).

Location is very nearfield. About 3.5 ft apart, and about 3ft from my head, toed in so I can not see any of the side panels. My ears are level with the midpoint of the front baffle.

Wow ! Excellent imaging, and natural reproduction of acoustic instruments and human voice ! Sounds almost like a headphone image, but in front of me, rather than in my head. Not quite holographic, but spacious. Treble does not sound as rolled off as before, probably because of near field positioning. Still don't hear an image outside of the speaker edges.

So nearfield and a powerful amplifier have helped.

Best,

Ross
