RE: Subwoofer and tube monoblocks

Certainly. The effect of a potentiometer of sufficiently high end to end resistance placed in parallel with the speaker cables currently being used is negligible. 100 Kohm parts should prove to be highly satisfactory.

Place such potentiometers across the O/Ps of both monoblocks. Buffer the wipers of the pots. with either tube or SS voltage followers. Use the follower O/Ps to feed the S/W's I/P RCA females. The wipers of the pots. are adjusted to obtain maximal performance.

If you are unlucky and the Ground Loop Boogeyman rears his fugly head, transformer based products, like Jensen's CI-2RR, eliminate the blasted hum.
