I had one dead tweeter in a pair of NS1000's I acquired. The NS-690 has a silk dome version of that tweeter. I tried a silk dome tweeter in one versus the good beryllium in the other. After plussing the silk dome +1db to match output then doing both frequency sweeps and comparing mono signals back and forth my ears could not really tell much difference.( Your ears might be more discerning than mine).I then put the other NS-690 tweeter in and have kept the Be one in case I ever find a mate.
