Not to echo the 'it depends on a lot' sentiment- but...
some questions to consider-
Does the party want rid of 'the whole thing'? - if yes, take it and do with it what you want.
Do you want the old furniture? - then keep it-
Some of the case work on those old units was impeccable - but not very valuable today, others were thin veneers over thin plywood - and not built to last...

If it is a Brazilay cabinet - it should be worth keeping - if that is your style....
