RE: Fisher Tube Console

I bought one on ebay, which was a family heirloom, so before bidding I e-mailed the seller and explained I was only after the amplifer. It turned out he was fine with it, pulled and shipped the amp and took the console to the dump. It turned out, the amplfier has a midrange that with my speakers etc., sounds better to me than some much more expensive amplifiers.

One caution, the amplifier chassis contained the power supply that also powered the tuner and preamplifier. It worked and sounded pretty good, but for it to operate optimally I had to change some resistor values in the power supply. Fisher made a number of different consoles, some with complete Fisher receivers, you just need to determine which one this is:

I think the amplifier I have was from one of the Futura's.
