DO NOT use anything damp on the EL34 or 5AR4 lettering...

...white Mullard lettering is extremely fragile: etched date codes much less so.

I use a soft brush in vicinity of lettering to revmove surface dust and a damp rag for remainder of tube. A slightly damp Q-tip can be used in areas close to lettering but don't let it touch the lettering itself. As always, test cleaning process in an inconspicuous area first and use great care if you want to maintain Mullard lettering.
