Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Other thoughts

I hear ya! that is why I'm hording tubes like a pack rat!

But having been through my "new gear phase" I can tell you that a lot of the new stuff isn't going to excite you. I understand your taste in audio. The new stuff is great if you take it ALL the way. I mean smoking set of monitor speakers and a smoking subwoofer. It's a package deal that I don't think will cut it with your speakers. Sorry, just how I feel being I already tried that.

I also understand your desire to NOT tinker any more. I'm there myself. Something you could consider - finding a older piece that's worthy of the cost of '''professionally''' restorion. that would clearly last a few more decades.

Orrrrrrrr - browse through Crutchfield and take FULLLLLLLLL advantage of their 30 return policy. At least that way you can get a taste for new gear and what problems lie ahead.

Just something to chew on before making those moves.
