Those old carbon composite resistors can drift from age an heat. When I was doing this type of work, we always replaced then with metal film. Nowadays I have read that it is popular to replace with carbon film, except the gridstoppers, which should be an in spec carbon composite. At least that is what I have read, and plan to do with my current tube gear. However, I have never tried it this way, and there are those who still prefer in spec carbon composite.
