I am really surprised that an 8 in sub added much to speakers with a 10" woofer with a properly designed cabinet. Attempts like this when I was selling audio proved disappointing.
However, looking at the specs, The Paradigm Monitor SUB 8 is probably the exception that proves the rule. With 300 watts RMS and 900 watts peak from a Class D amplifier, tis got power. They don't explicitly state it, but the woofer with a 38mm voice coil must have a very long trough. Knowing Paradigm's reputation for good sound, I suspect they have some tricks to keep that long through woofer linear. So normally I would consider 8" insufficient for a subwoofer. In this case it looks like it should work.
