I am STILL amazed at that little stereo every time I re-hook it into the rotation. Just amazing!!!
I rotate it every other month with a VTA ST-70 kit from Bob Latino amp and a Conrad Johnson Classic 2SE tube preamp. So the "other" setup the Sherwood is up against truly classified as a "new" tube setup. The VTA ST-70 is also one AMAZING sounding amp. A fantastic but yet different setup.
I truly am at a point where there is no improving. Only trying different types of sound signatures. And that's what tube rolling if good at.
The tube line up I run in the line stage is:
V3 Gold Lion B759 (12AX7 long coil??) NICE tube
V4 TungSol 12AX7
V5 RCA Black plate vintage 12AX7
I've yet to actually use the phono section. but I'm sure it's sweet.
