Preamp tubes for Eico ST-40 amplifier

Please advise what preamp tubes in the ST-40 amplifier are responsible for its phono preamp? My amp, which I like a lot, came (among others) with JJ 12AX7 tubes. If they relate to its phono stage, I will try some old stock 12AX7 tubes.
