Do make sure it is not the cables. I had a cable go bad and did not find it until after I had switched around a lot of stuff. Ironically it was the only thing in the system, besides the phono cartridge that I have bought new!
Assuming you have checked the cable, it is time break out the DeoxIt and start cleaning the switches and RCA jacks. I would also check continuity, starting at the RCA jacks. Yamaha has a strange way of doing their RCA jacks and they can become disconnected. By the way, nice tuner and preamp!
