The EV's that I've owned had accordian surrounds that were kind of an orange color and I always thought they were phenolic impregnated.
But if your 12TRXB surrounds are black and look dry they be a different animal. Perhaps an earlier version?
To be safe I would contact the supplier before I bought it and used it.
