RE: recommendations for work on Marantz 7t

Got a 7T in 2002 and paired it with several SS and Tube Amps with great results. It became a favorite with its excellent phono stage. In 2007, the left channel went dead. The cause was a 15 ufd signal capacitor so replaced it and several more with great Mylar caps. With cover off, decided to replace the P.S. caps. Removed transistors one-by-one, cleaned leads and sockets and returned all to original positions. Surprise !

The new signal caps made a huge difference in snaps, crackles, and voice ... and tighter bass from newer design power caps. Very happy with my 7T. One day, I will replace the RCA sockets with good quality gold units.
