The S5000 has a decent preamp... but you, Eli keep on plugging that hybrid RCA with passive EQ...over and over...Please stop ! Your "upgraded" RCA Passive Phono preamp is not that good sounding ! Active Feedback EQ is sooo much more natural and classic sounding....IMHO of course...and YMMV of course.... If we want to hear "the hits as we remember them," then feedback EQ will always satisfy....
Please realize the original poster is happy with that phono preamp/integrated amplifier known as the S5000. He simply wants to have pre -out/main-in abilities...He simply has to add input/output jacks or cables at the right points...
Can't we enjoy the classic tube amps without changing them into the
morph you haven't even heard ?
