RE: What is the life expectancy of a restored Sherwood S-5000

Yeah, Sherwood engineers tried not to think inside the box whenever possible. But they seemed always to come up with a better way of doing things though none mostly caught on in the industry. I loved the loudness contour system. Well thought out and actually worked the way one should. Sadly, they dropped it when the went ss; I miss it in my S9500c. AFAIK, Yamaha is the only one to duplicate it. The CA610II system achieves the same resultant know almost the same way.

Also, during their hey day, parts quality seemed to matter; at least as much as we were lead to believe it did for McIntosh.
