Today's Goodwill find

Today at one of the Goodwill stores I haunt I picked up a pair of Fisher XP7C speakers for $24. The cabinets are rather the worse for wear, but all the drivers work, and the grills are intact. I've been listening to them all evening, hooked up to a Pioneer SX-580 receiver.

They're surprisingly pleasant in sound, just a tiny bit nasal, but they do a lovely job on woodwinds and strings. Despite their 12-inch woofer, they're surprisingly mild in the bass. They want to be on the floor, next to a side wall. I even wonder if they want to be in a corner, but I don't have any corners available.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot of info about these (at least on a cursory Google search, and a search of the Asylum), outside of that they came out in the early 1970s. Anyone have experience with these?
