RE: update

Mike
I have been using a cd that plays in my other unit, so I know that part is ok. I doubt it is turning enough to read anything. It only turns about 1 or 2 revolutions before it stops and then it shows all 0's across the screen, and it only does that occasionally. Most times it does nothing and comes up with 0's across the screen. I tried turning it by hand after the tray closed, but it did not start spinning.
I have the top off and have cleaned the laser. I can see it from the side and can see no light coming from it either with a cd in or without. Should I be able to?
