I opened and closed the tray about 15 or 20 times and twice the disc made a couple of revolutions and then stopped. What would make it behave intermittently like that?
I found the service manual on line but have not found any real help there.
Would the disc start to spin and then stop if the laser wasn't working right? But wouldn't that happen every time you opened and closed the tray?
I know the lasers are supposed to be really tough to replace on these, so I am hoping that is not the problem.
Also, I have the top off and I was looking toward the laser from the side as the door closed, and I have not seen it come on either with a disc in place or without. Should it come on when the door closes?
