RE: How does this Aiwa LX-110 sound so GOOD?

How many turntable set ups have you heard? I was surprised how good a cheap AT-95e cartridge performed on a Garrard 401 with a Jelco SA 750L 12" tone arm. But, the AT-95e is not in the same league of a Denon DL 301 MKII. And, frankly the Denon is not enough cartridge after hearing a Grado Sonata.

As for that jitter I mentioned, I believe it originated from record grove variable friction while using a vintage Sony PS-X50 TT. I first noticed it when comparing a CD to a record. Once that jitter got locked in my head, it simply bothered me. A Garrard 401 on a custom plinth fixed that issue and that well known rumble from the Garrard 401 was not present in my set up- absolutely zero rumble!

So, I do not know what you are hearing, but you certainly hear something.
