RE: Ping airtime

That preamp is $4k. I was looking for a kit (I like to dabble but no longer want to tweak or DIY) below $700.

The VTA SP9 or the Z-preamp looks interesting. But I don't know what the differences are (besides tone controls). Again, this is for a second system. For the next year or two it will be for a solid state amp. I hope to eventually use it for either a rebuilt Cit V or a Latino 70 kit.

But for at least a year or two - a second systems preamp to a SS amp.

Also my MAIN need is STABILITY!!!!! Remember I had that upgraded PAS 3. It routinely blew out tubes and power supplies. It was the best sounding preamp I EVER heard. But it was blow out like it was set to a clock!!!

I can't have that. I would forfeit sound quality OVER stability !!!!!!
