They supposedly could reproduce square waves better than just about any other amp at the time (even the contemporary Citation), great for transient response - that's the story, anyway.

I have one, and it sounds great on the Polk 7Bs as mhardy suggested, and it sounds even better on various single-driver and high-efficiency speakers I've built and used over the years. I recapped the power supply and phono board a while back, and while the PS caps resulted in the typical improvements, the real surprise was how good the phono section actually is.
