It's not only the 7199. All of the useful "tripents" are a problem. AFAIK (not expert), the "tripents" are not used in instrument amps. Maybe New Sensor will put 1 type of the class back into production, if the background noise level gets loud enough. It's not particularly difficult to get everybody on the same page, by adapters and/or parts changes. With only 1 type to produce for 'philes, New Sensor might be able to make a profit. IMO, it is completely unrealistic to hope for more than 1 "tripent" type being reintroduced.
