I have elected to recap several vintage speakers, especially if the is an obvious problem or if I am unhappy with the upper frequency response. Often, the original electrolytics look fine, occasionally, one is swollen up. Typically the new capacitors brighten up the upper frequencies.
My "new to me" KLH 5's demonstrate remarkable inner detail. I redoped the woofers and improved the bass response. I see a lot of posts about recapping these as well. However, i am leaning towards leaving them alone as they sound pretty nice as is. Thoughts?
