RE: Bose Electronics

I assume you are talking about the older electronics, not the current lineup.
I think companies that made their bones in speakers struggle with perception when they venture into electronics. AR, for example, or Bose, or Bozak.
Of course, there are exceptions. JBL made a very successful line of amps and preamps that are highly prized today. KLH and Advent did pretty well, largely because Kloss was such an astute designer and marketer. QUAD made both legendary speakers and electronics to drive them, and succeeded more than most at getting people to think of them as a system. Same goes for Linn.
McIntosh and Marantz never quite found a following with speakers, although they made some fine products.
