Home Vintage Asylum

Classic gear from yesteryear; vintage audio standing the test of time.

Mine are, but I think it depends

on the design of the speaker and how it interfaces with your room.

Starting with the manufacturer, the last I knew Richard Vandersteen recommended no toe-in, i.e. parallel to the front wall. But many manufacturers recommend pointing (toe-in) directly at the listener's head. And a few may suggest pointing in front of the listener.

Somewhere between those extremes are(were) designers like Dunlavy and Janszen that recommend pointing tweeters 2-3' behind the listener's head.

Like so much in this hobby, no substitute for doing you own experimentation.
