RE: Knight Allied "Splendid Value" Package

Well, I finished recapping the amp. All of the power supply is rebuilt, all signal path coupling caps, and a grounded power cord.

It has two issues. One is hum. Not much, but audible at listening position. Two is bass, loads of bass. Much more than I think is normal.

The hum was pretty awful without the grounded cord, most went away once the chassis was grounded. The problem goes away completely when the preamp tubes are removed, so I am assuming signal path. None of the input lines are shielded

Not sure about the bass. I'm rechecking the NFB/tone control loop as I replaced the wax caps there. But I'm certain that everything was rewired correctly.
