Purchased both Koss & Nakamichi phones a few months back from K Mart on a whim, since both were under 20 bones each. Both sounded fine, & fairly refined. Turned out the Koss phones were intended for cell phones, so they went to a bud's son. He says they're the bomb. Nakamichi's were also gifted, & recipient's son loves their sound, too. Settled on a pair of off-brand AL phones, which work superbly for broadcast duty. And are a bit more sensitive than either Koss or Naks. As for impact of fashion-statement phones, here's an interesting article from today's San Francisco Chronicle front page. 73s para Sactown.
