That Eico design is very similar, with the twin controls, but the Silvertones opened just above the speaker with snaps to reveal the chassis and big battery container.
We were going to get a 5-transistor all-plastic design that was about $19, but then the catalog was sold out of those and we ended up with these instead.THe more transistors you had the greater the station pulling power.
