I've been using Sony monitor headphones for about two years. They sound great and you're not paying for hype. They replaced my 30+ year old Koss over the ear phone. May they rest in peace.
Having bought new headphones about two years ago, I did do a lot of researching. A LOT has changed (and a lot NOT for the better). The old names are not the leaders anymore. Look into Sennheiser and Sony. They seem to be the leaders in our price range.
