Decca cartridge

One of my uncles used that Decca phono cartridge for awhile. It was one of the the best sounding cartridges I ever heard. Transients were so fast it was unnerving, making all other cartridges of the day seem as slow as molasses.

It was also the worst tracking cartridge I ever heard, too. Knowing it could not track passages that other units would play with ease, for fun we tried Telarc's infamous 1812 Overture cannon shots. The tonearm and cartridge actually flew up, jumped sideways, and came down on another section of the record. Luckily, no damage was done to the Decca's super-delicate stylus.
