RE: What were your big leaps in audio

1)I started with tubes, went with SS 'cause I was naïve enough to believe that specs & charts were most important. The big leap came when I finally realized that how my system sounded to ME was the important thing so I went back to tubed electronics and will stay with them.

2)Another big leap came when I discovered high efficiency speakers.

3)MC cartridges are the way to go (at least for me). The big leap came when I went with the DL-103R.

4)NOS tube DAC's sound better than most of the 'modern' stuff with all of the bells and whistles.

5)And finally, most importantly, system synergy!

Cheers,
Al

Much of this might seem obvious to many of you, but I discovered each one of my "big leaps" over a forty+ year period, one leap at a time :-)
