I agreed to do some music for a backyard party a few hours away. When I called to reserve a pair of basic pa speakers(peavey 15"" two way, etc) the clerk told me my 65 wpch sansui 881 receiver could not drive the speakers and I should rent a mixer and powered speakers for twice as much . When I asked him what the sensitivity of his passive speakers were, there was silence...
Then he said, "these are pro DJ speakers rated at 400 watts"
I think he is misinformed, what say you?
I did craft some special speaker cables with 1/4 " terminations, by the way.
