Fisher Phono Upgrades

The Fisher phono section has come under some scrutiny compared to the Scott 340B phono section. The Fisher phono section will respond greatly with the following changes.

Two coupling capacitors are in the phono tube circuit. The .01uF grid to plate ceramic cap was replaced with a Russian K40Y-9 and the .022uF output coupling cap was replaced with a Vitamin Q .047uF coupling cap. Both caps are rated at 200 volts. Higher voltage ratings are, of course, no problem.

Next, the very expensive Brimar CV4004 single wing plate tubes or a very close second Westinghouse USA manufactured 12AX7 short narrow plate will finish the changes.

Many others report world class performance with the fore-mentioned modifications I posted early last winter.
