As you know the speakers you use will dictate by a large margin the type of amplifier you should use.
More power doesn't have to mean headbanger levels... more power provides the necessary "juice" for low sensitivity speakers, allowing them to sound at their best; on the other hand, at equal engineering quality, less powerful amplifiers are often more musical than power monsters, so if your speakers have a sensitivity above average then you can be very happy with less power...
Depending on your budget and requirements, there's fine vintage integrated amplifiers from Accuphase, Pioneer, Luxman, Sansui, Technics... there's tons of information on this forum and others... If you see an amplifier you like for sale, google the model and you'll find all information and reviews you want. it's a good place to start...
