subwoofer update

Well, I passive-ied the subwoofer last night. I learned from the Yamaha HT receiver manual that the subwoofer output seves only frequencies below 90 hz, so it turns out that I did not need a crossover. I took out the plate amp, and used the plastic cover of the amp to fill the hole in the back of the subwoofer cabinet. I cut the speaker wires from the amp and connected a terminal that allow me to connect the subwoofer to an external integrated amp. It worked very well for Mission Impossible last night. I generally won't use it for music, but just for fun I tried it with Widor's 5th Organ Symphony and it was very impressive with the pedal tones.

Thanks to all who offered advice/
