That is easy to say because all things die. The manufacturer claimed lifespan is 5 time longer than conventional capacitors. Do you have experience with Black Gates? My Yamaha C2x shows no signs of wear in the filter capacitors. Their is no noise on the line stage through the headphone jack with the volume cranked to maximum. On the phono stage there is a barely perceptible hiss. That tells me that the Black Gates are fine. all other capacitors are film. IMO it is a waste of money to change them without symptoms. Also, if you replace them with a lesser capacitor, you probably would wind up with worse sound. Replacing them with Black Gates is going to be expensive! The only maintenance I would recommend is clean the contacts. But be prepared to be blown away when you take the top of one of these things. The build quality is fantastic. I suspect they were a loss-leader. These preamps are SOTA.
