Power difference not withstanding, these are 2 very different monoblocks.
The 30a has a lush "tubelike" sound- it really sounds like how people people describe tube amps as sounding. Midrange to die for, with surprising frequency extension, but bass only goes down so far.
The MC30 sounds like a cross between a SS and a tube amp. Tight bass and a quiet background like a SS amp; lush midrange and tube like imaging.
One of the best amp pair I ever heard was a fully rebuilt pr of MC30s. All new close tolerance parts, better power supply. NOS tubes. The best way to describe it would be natural. It neither added or subtracted anything and the soundstage and imageing were spectacular.
Best, Ross
