It depends on the equipment used and your objectives. Except for one set of nicer interconnects previously used upstairs, I use pretty basic stuff in the vintage garage system. I enjoy improved resolution and dimensionality, however, with the main system using cables with lower EDC.
Can cables improve perceived sound quality? In my experience, absolutely. Do they make audible differences in every system? Certainly not. It is a matter of matching capabilities.
