I posted this on the Tape Trail as well, but decided to post it here as well since it is vintage & because I would like to find out as much information from people who might have heard or owned a Philips Tape Deck!
I know that during the late 70's Philips had a series out called
High Fidelity Laboratories, that is highly regarded by some for there Tuners,Amps,Preamps,Receivers.Even there Turntables from that vintage get good reviews from most! But I can not find anything on there tape decks from
this era,let alone on any of there Stereo Cassette Decks! Were they really that bad sounding,Poor build quality, etc? I myself have mostly used Sony or JVC decks over the years. If one where to get a Stereo Cassette Deck from Philips(if there is 1 worth owning?)which one would it be?Thanks a lot for sharing any information you could on them!
