RE: Sherwood S5000 - heat destroying wires??

You can do this my friend..What happens with the old cloth wiring when it's put in damp areas overtime,the heating and cooling creates cracks and then allows moisture to seep in and destroy the wires..You have to replace those wires and you can go inside the transformer to do it under the bell caps and the first layer of kraft paper..You can also send the transformers to Heyboer or even a local winder and they can replace those wires for you...
