Advent 450S

Is there any love for this receiver? I found one of these at an estate sale today. It is a cute little thing. It is about 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep. An Advent 300 looks huge next to it.

I haven't been able to find out much about this receiver. It came out in the mid seventies and is a post-Kloss product. It was built in Japan. It uses a Sanyo STK436 chip for it's power amp. It has a phono stage. I do not think that it is a successor to the 300 as a poster on another forum has said. It is just too different in form.

I hooked the receiver up to a pair of Denon/Mission speakers. The FM sounds pretty nice. The tuner has a neat pair of indicator lamps that help tune in the stations. I have yet to test it with a digital source or a phono. The amp is dead quiet which is something I cannot say of my 300. I have yet to test it with headphones either.

If anybody has any info on this, please share it.

John
