RE: McIntosh MC-60s - how do they hold up now?

Those MC60 monoblocks will be SUPERB, after thorough refurbishment. Talk to AA "inmates" Mike Samra and Don Sachs (dls123).

JMO, you will not get magnetics anywhere near as good as those used by Frank McIntosh in a contemporary tube amp. All the old "mac" tube amps are good. In the same league is the H/K Cit. 2 and (according to some folks) the Marantz 8B. Refurbishment is the key to getting the vintage heavy hitters to perform at max.

BTW, tube amps mate very, very, well with "Maggies", given their "flat" impedance curves. Serving only mids and highs will leave the MC60s loafing.
