my deep dark past as a hi-fi salesperson while in school. They are excellent studio monitors. JBL made a home version with the same drivers crossover and box size the L100 sans level controls. They are both punchy, solid and chunky sounding speakers with the West Coast sound. A really nice match to tube amps.
You should take the time to restore them. They are a fun ride, for sure. Congrats on your score! BTW, they are quite a bit better than the Lancer 44s IMHO.
