RE: EV rapair

Assuming you're dealing with the corrugated paper surround version. I've repaired tears in paper cones and surrounds using a decent water soluble glue like Titebond or Aileens tacky stuff. I dilute the glue 50:50 with water and place into a glue application syringe with opening of say 1/2mm. Carefully support the paper on either side of the torn area so that the edges of the tear are perfectly flush. Then carefully apply the diluted glue to tear in as fine a stream as possible and let dry. Repeat one or two times. Use as little glue as possible but enough to get the job done. If done properly, the repair is not very visible and is probably stronger than surrounding paper. On the units I've repaired using this method, there are no buzzes when a frequency sweep is applied to the speaker and it sounds as good as new.

As always, you need to determine the suitability of this repair method to your specific situation and skillset.
